Mutilate, Museum for Contemporary Art, Antwerp (BE)

Fashion was the starting point for this exhibition which went in search of historical, ethnic and aesthetic points of contact. From these different angles, Mutilate? offered a survey of the various ways, throughout history and all over the world, man has used extreme, bizarre, crazy and singular forms of fashion, body decoration and manipulation. It showed how man is forever adapting his appearance, mostly for social and religious reasons.

Curated by Walter Van Beirendonck.

For this project we took care of all operational aspects, including loans, transport, insurance and budgeting. We coordinated the exhibition research, design, installation, opening and de-installation. We also coordinated the editorial and publishing aspects of the catalogue.
