Content description

The title of this book provides a precise yet abstract description of its contents: a set of images that depict every frame of a minute-long video. Each page corresponds to 24 frames or 1 second of video, each frame of which is laid out on the page in a grid. This archive of images presents a 360 degree pan around a space, in which are hung a series of white monochromatic squares.

The back cover is a gate-fold with a poetic text (in French) about neon lights set alongside a floor-plan of the space. The video presented in the book is part of the project Under Construction (1996), for which a space was described, modeled in miniature, filmed and then projected into a gallery space, a project and process that reflects Busschère’s ongoing investigation of exhibition spaces, the conditions of presentation and exposure, and the (re)production of space.
