Content description

Part of her ongoing Sex and Technology Project, Headnurse is the work of Belgian artist Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, who operates on the internet under the name “HeadNurse.” The book presents a series of ninety-six pictures of naked - or half-naked - women lavishly distorted by the tools of technology. Originally taken from the artist’s own computer-based collection, the images were manipulated and then faxed to a gallery where they were exhibited as “reports” from home. The photgraphs were then further manipulated and colorized to create the strangely sexy cyborgs she presents here.
