Imschoot, publishers

Imschoot publishers has acquired an international reputation in the field of quirky and unique artist's books in limited editions. Artists were given carte blanche to conceive a book as an artwork within their oeuvre. Imschoot stood for a classic printing company on the one hand and a publisher with various imprints that specialized in artist's books on the other. Dirk Imschoot prefers to call it a creative cell, a productive cell and a digital output. “A printing company is a production company,” he says. "But that production must be done as creatively as possible. This can be achieved by combining the traditional and the industrial, by linking experience with the sense of plaything." In this way Imschoot, publishers has published works by Carl André, Dan Graham, Peter Downsbrough, Lawrence Wiener, John Baldessari, Joseph Kosuth and Sol LeWitt, among others.

During 10 years, we have been responsible for the editorial & management policy of this publishing house. Besides inviting artists and producing state-of-the-arts artist’s books with them, we also took care of the production process, the communication strategy, the sales and distribution.
